Glorious Beauty

God is amazing. He created this glorious sunset over Green Acres a couple of evenings ago. The most amazing part about it is that He does it every night and yet, somehow, two sunsets never seem to be the same. Each one glorious and unique in its own way.

That is how He designed us as well. He has given each of us gifts and abilities that are creatively designed to meet the needs of the people He chooses to allow into our lives. It is amazing how He uses His people to reach others who need a hand.

There have been times in my life when God has brought people into my life for short seasons of time in order to bring blessings into my life and allow me to bring blessings into their lives as well. He does that. He creatively leads those people on a life path that ends up crossing our life path at the exact time when He determines it is necessary and important. Whether it is to accomplish a goal for His kingdom or whether it is to encourage us or sharpen us in some way is irrelevant. The important thing is that God knows we need that person at that exact time.

I can’t begin to tell you about all of the people who God has sent me over the years. There are dozens and dozens of them. All blessings. All miraculous encounters. All predestined by God at the perfect time in my life.

For those people, I am eternally grateful for the way that they listened to God during their journey. The way they followed God’s directions which enabled them to be where He wanted them to be at the appointed time.  I have seen it a multitude of times.  They have called me when I needed to hear from someone.  They have prayed for me when I needed it most.  They have provided a light when things seemed dark.  They have given wisdom and direction when I didn’t know where to go or what to do about a situation.

Guess what is happening now?  It is years later and I am overwhelmed by the fact that God is frequently allowing me to “pay it forward” and be a blessing to  friends who are needing advice, encouragement, and even direction with their lives.  He has allowed me to walk through some treacherous times in order to lead others through those same treacherous times and to provide hope and confidence that they, too, can find joy and peace in the midst of their struggles.  Even though I certainly would not have chosen some of the difficulties I have walked through, I am thankful to be able to share knowledge, insight, wisdom, and understanding concerning tough issues and hard times in life when you don’t know what to do to fix things that seem impossible to fix.  I am thankful to be able to offer suggestions, books, prayers, bible verses, and wisdom learned during those difficult years.

As I have told my friends on Facebook, I am sorry if I am “over-posting” right now.  It is merely due to the fact that I am currently experiencing the beauty of God’s ways on an almost daily basis.  Whether it is the beautiful scenery, the beautiful people, or the beautiful way God has allowed me to encourage some of my close friends over the past couple of months, I am overwhelmed at the magnificence of His love.

When you reflect back on your life, think about the way God has brought people to you “out of nowhere” and helped you get through a tough time or even just a bad day.  Trust me, He is watching every detail of your life closely and causing the accidental encounters to occur at just the right time.  His timing is always perfect. He loves you enough to orchestrate those accidental encounters as many times as it takes to accomplish His purposes in your life.  His ways are gloriously beautiful.

“Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.” (Isaiah 64:4 NIV)
